Blonde Swan! Newlywed Natalie Portman made headline hair news over the weekend when the normally brunette beauty, 31, debuted sunny blonde hair at the Van Cleef & Arpels Dinner for L.A. Dance Project on Saturday.

The Oscar-winning actress -- who hung out with husband Benjamin Millepied and Robert Pattinson at the bash -- told fellow revelers that the startling-but-stunning new look is for a film role, although she didn't elaborate.
A-list colorist Tracey Cunningham did the honors for Portman, who's the face of Miss Dior Cherie fragrance.

"Natalie makes a beautiful blonde!" Cunningham tells Us Weekly. "She needed to make the change for an upcoming movie role, and using Redken's Blonde Dimensions we achieved a gorgeous, multi-dimensional golden blonde."
The last time fans saw Portman go blonde, the star briefly wore a blonde bob wig playing a stripper who seduces Jude Law in "Closer."

She and French-born dancer-choreographer Millepied, 35, are parents to son Aleph, 15 months, and they tied the know in Big Sur, Calif., last month. Although Portman new 'do confirms she's continuing to work, she's also relishing motherhood, a source recently told Us.
"She has this glow about her these days. ... There's been a change in her since the little man arrived. She and Benjamin are so content."
