It's been nine months since veteran daytime talk host Regis Philbin stepped down from his long-running "Live!" gig and left co-host Kelly Ripa to run the show without him. Since then, Ripa has worked alongside dozens of different men and women who've served as temporary co-hosts, but things are about to get permanent.

On Monday, Disney-ABC Domestic Television announced that "Live! With Kelly" will soon have a full-time star to fill Philbin's spot. The identity of that new co-host will be revealed on the Tuesday, Sept. 4 episode of the show, the same day he or she officially starts.

But before the newest "Live!" star joins in on the act, Ripa will have an opportunity to do something she's never done before -- host the show alone. Ripa's one-time solo shot will air Sept. 3.
