"The Little Couple" stars Jen Arnold and Bill Klein are traveling to India to get their newly adopted daughter in the upcoming season of TLC's hit reality show, but little Zoey is already home, and she's making her big debut in the pages of People magazine.
"She is a very strong personality," Arnold told the magazine, which will be on newsstands Feb. 21. "She is a happy girl."
The 2-year-old is the couple's second child. The pair also have an adopted son, 3-year-old Will from China. The little boy "loves pushing (his sister) around" on toy cars, Arnold told People.
While things are happy now, Zoey's adoption kicked off a turbulent time for the family. During a trip to India to get Zoey, 39-year-old Arnold started bleeding heavily and had to cut her journey short. She was later diagnosed with stage 3 choriocarcinoma, a rare form of cancer that developed after she suffered a pregnancy loss in September.
After months of treatment, the neonatologist revealed to People earlier this month that her cancer is now in remission.
Having the two children at home also helped during her battle against cancer. "Enjoying watching my children play was a huge, uplifting part of my treatment," she told People. "With kids running around, you don't have much time to feel sorry for yourself."
Fans of "The Little Couple" will see both the highs and the lows when the show returns next month. In addition to the adoption, a teaser reveals the new episodes will follow Arnold's fight against cancer.
"The Little Couple" returns with a one-hour special on March 4 at 10 p.m. on TLC.
