Lindsay Lohan has put her nose in the middle of politics (despite not being registered to vote at the time), so it's not a huge surprise that she feels the need to weigh in on the current major news story, Hurricane Sandy.

As hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers were being evacuated from their homes Sunday night, and an estimated 50-60 million people were preparing for impact, Lohan tweeted out to her 4.5 million followers a plea for people to cut the "negativity" regarding the life-threatening, 1,000-mile wide storm.

"WHY is everyone in SUCH a panic about hurricane (i'm calling it Sally)..? Stop projecting negativity! Think positive and pray for peace," she tweeted.

As a matter of comparison, "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul on Monday morning wrote, "Sending everyone lots of love who are in the path of hurricane Sandy. May she disappear as soon as possible."

Even though Sandy was the cause for Broadway to go dark Sunday and Monday nights, one show in New York is going on, despite the storm: "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon."  As show writer and producer Fallon tweeted Sunday night, "We will be doing a new show tomorrow night no matter what. #LateNight"
