Kristen Bell loves motherhood now, but when she was pregnant with daughter Lincoln, the actress just wasn't feeling the maternal vibe.
It was a concern she shared with now-husband Dax Shepard.
“I kept saying to him, in all sincerity, during my pregnancy, 'I just don’t know how I’m going to like her as much as I like the dogs,'" Bell admitted in an interview with Flare. "Because I (expletive) love my dogs; they are my children. I was being serious."
But Bell's love for her corgi-chow mix, Lola, and her corgi-Chihuahua mix, Mr. Shakes, wasn't really the problem.
"I love people the more I know them, and I didn’t know her," she explained. "It could’ve been a water bottle in my belly, that’s about how connected I felt to her during my pregnancy."
Luckily for the now 7-month-old Lincoln, mom came around when it counted.
"Within about 24 hours after she came out, my hormones reset, and they reprogrammed my feelings about her,” Bell said.
In fact, now Bell has gone from not-so-motherly to full-on mama bear mode.
"I would really not like to see the aftermath of the first person who tries to take a picture of Lincoln," she warned. "There are going to be a lot of stitches.”
