Kathie Lee is back! She returned on Monday after spending time in Italy to celebrate upcoming birthdays for her and her daughter, Cassidy.
Let’s hope KLG exercised better fashion sense while in Italy than when she stopped by Los Angeles, where she started her week off to help co-host the new talk show of her bestie, Kris Jenner.
While in California, KLG took a stroll in the neighborhood where her friends, Regis and Joy Philbin, used to live. She gave the couple a call because she couldn’t remember their exact address – and took up Regis on a dare to pay a visit to the current owners of his former home.
KLG described the man who answered the door as “the sweetest guy,” and posed with him for a photograph, which wasn’t so sweet.
“Don’t ask me about my fanny pack. I don’t want to talk about it,” she told Hoda about the bright red pack strapped across the pair of baggy shorts she wore in the picture. “Don’t ask me about those drawers I’m wearing. I also don’t want to discuss those.”
To erase the image from everyone’s mind, KLG quickly went back to describing her trip to Lake Como, the Italian town where George Clooney famously owns a mansion. Kathie Lee took back-to-back red-eyes to make it to Italy, first from Los Angles and then New York.
KLG admitted the flights made her a little loopy.
“I don’t know what I said, I don’t know what I did,” she said. “I might have gotten weird, and a little naked.”
That’s when she said her daughter talked her into getting another, more flattering, photograph taken of her.
“I don’t know how Cassidy did it,” she feigned, before revealing a stunning picture of KLG – taken years ago while wearing a skimpy two-piece.
In all, KLG and her daughter had a great time, and she continues to be amazed they finally made it to Lake Como.
“Frank and I have been trying to get there for 27 years,” she said.
