KLG and Hoda remember Joan Rivers: 'She never, ever bored you'

From hopping into bed with her at her Manhattan apartment to doubling over in laughter during her appearances on TODAY, Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb had plenty of fond memories to share about Joan Rivers on Friday. "You knew it would be sparks,'' KLG said.

"She never, ever, bored you. She electrified whatever show she was on."

The ladies also took a look back at some great times on the show with the comedic legend in this montage:

Gifford was a longtime friend of Rivers, who died at 81 years old on Thursday. KLG met her during the beginnings of Gifford's career in Los Angeles, and Rivers became a regular guest over the years on Gifford's various talk shows.

"She was known for her caustic humor, but in person she treated everybody...warm,'' Gifford said. "She would crack a joke with an electrician like she was cracking a joke with Johnny Carson."

"When you talk about an original, and there are very few originals any more, Joan Rivers sort of epitomizes that, doesn't she?" Hoda said.

From her humor in times of tragedy to the jokes she cracked about death and the lavish funeral she wished for, KLG and Hoda reminisced about how Rivers was able to make people laugh during the hard times.
