Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are new parents, so of course, they're focused on... weight loss and interior design? North West was born just over a week ago, and yet from press reports, it seems that Kim and Kanye's priorities haven't changed too much.

Let's start with Kim, who spent the days leading up to her delivery obsessively posting old bikini photos on Instagram. From the very start of her pregnancy, the reality star was uncomfortable with her changing body and the (totally unfair) criticism it attracted. Now she's reportedly rushing back into weight-loss mode. A friend who spoke to People said that Kim "can't wait to lose the baby weight. It's definitely on her mind."

Sigh. And here we thought celebrities were making some progress in the wait-a-reasonable-number-of-months-before-wearing-a-bikini department.

While Kim has decided to focus on her body, Kanye continues to be focused on Kanye. In a new W magazine profile, the rapper goes on at length about his plans to change the world: through music, fashion, film, and his current obsession, designer furniture. "People are going to look back 10 or 20 years from now and say, 'Man, I remember such and such was like this, but then Kanye got involved, and now it’s like this,'" he confidently tells the interviewer.

In the profile, as in his new album, impending fatherhood seems to be the last thing on Kanye's mind. He does, however, talk about Kim—specifically, how he's been influencing her fashion choices.

"One beautiful thing is that as she discovers it, the world discovers it," he says of the daring fashions Kim has worn since they become a couple. "For her to take that risk in front of the world, it just shows you how much she loves me. And how much she actually loves the opportunity to learn."

The article also describes an awkward interaction with Kim's mom Kris Jenner, who compliments one of Kanye's new tracks with a cringe-worthy "Great job!" It doesn't exactly sound like they're one big happy family. Even so, West says that when he appears on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, he's doing it for love.

"At a certain point, or always, love is more important than any branding, or any set of cool people, or attempting to impress anyone. Because true love is just the way you feel," he says.

Well, that's sweet, anyhow. But isn't Kanye's whole thing about impressing people? Are either of these celebrities ready for the massive dose of humility that comes with raising another human being?

Neither star has spoken out since North's birth, though according to an E! News story, Kanye is "so hands on... changing diapers" and motherhood is "coming so naturally" to Kim. From where we're standing, though, it seems like Kim and Kanye are each still living on their own personal planets, orbiting around their massive egos. Hopefully their baby will make them look beyond themselves—and maybe even bring them together.
