Justin Bieber is taking a lot of heat for proffering his stance on abortion in a recent Rolling Stone interview, a portion of which was posted on its website Wednesday. Asked whether he thought it was right to terminate a pregnancy even in an instance where rape was involved, he originally said: “Well, I think that’s really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I guess I haven’t been in that position, so I wouldn’t be able to judge that.” Today, the magazine clarified his comment, albeit slightly, saying: “Well, I think that’s really sad, but everything happens for a reason. I don’t know how that would be a reason. I guess I haven’t been in that position, so I wouldn’t be able to judge that.”
Not sure how this changes the essence of his response, but it was obviously important to either Bieber, Rolling Stone, or both. What do you think, should Bieber have answered the question at all?
