For the past seven years, John Legend’s Hollywood Hills home has been a creative refuge for the award-winning musician. Now that refuge can be yours as Legend and his wife, model Chrissy Teigen, are selling the home for $1.995 million
According to Architectural Digest, designer Don Stewart was inspired by the home’s mid-century architecture, which reminded him of a Thai temple. He worked with the couple to design the home acoustically for low sound, tranquility and a creative vibe using basalt stone and baked oak flooring, etched teak cabinetry and other organic elements.
Of note, the home has internalized and insulated rain gutters, so when it rains you hear the rain, not the drain spouts. There’s also a tranquil patio, outdoor soaking tub, fountains and wooden hot tub, extending the peaceful atmosphere outdoors.
The singer-songwriter’s primary residence is in the Big Apple, but he reportedly travels to Los Angeles fairly often. He recorded songs for his current album, “Love in the Future,” in the home’s state-of-the-art studio.
Steven Moritz of Sotheby’s International Realty holds the listing.
