The duo found the one-bedroom home just before their September 2013 wedding and asked Don Stewart to redesign the loft-like apartment (as he did their Los Angeles home). Now, the singer-songwriter and model have revealed the finished product in the latest issue of Architectural Digest magazine.

“This apartment kind of embodies everything that I love,” Teigen said about the space that she and Legend share with their bulldogs, Pippa, Puddy and Penny. “I love dark and rustic, but still very clean and very chic.”

And chic it is. On top of remodeling the kitchen, building a new bathroom and turning the old bathroom into Legend’s closet, Stewart created a stylishly modern environment with a brown and navy palette, adding to the dark atmosphere that the couple said they love most.

“We tend to look for the opposite of what most people want,” Legend said about the residence’s moody aura.

“I’d rather have a wall than a view of the Empire State Building,” Teigen added.

The couple maintained the dark theme throughout the apartment, including the kitchen, which has brown cabinets, a floral backsplash and double ovens that came in handy during the holidays.

"For Thanksgiving, we had over 20 people," said Teigen, whose passion for food extends to her own blog. "And I made 18 side dishes." In a kitchen like theirs, we'd spend all day cooking, too.
