"Tonight Show" host Jimmy Fallon has shown off his dancing skills (or lack thereof), ability to sing, aptitude in pranking his band and generally making people laugh, but on Wednesday, he revealed a new expertise: beard trimming.

The comedian, who always looks perfectly tidy, gave Jared Leto a little bit of style advice when the Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman stopped by: "I would take the beard down a notch ... I would just take it down a little bit," Fallon suggested.

The Oscar-winning actor, who had set teenage hearts afire as hunky (and clean-shaven) Jordan Catalano on '90s drama "My So-Called Life," has been sporting a rather bushy beard as of late that even he himself admitted has led to some holy references when it comes to his looks. That was all the encouragement Fallon needed to bust out his trimmer.

"Lookin' good!" one female audience member yelled as Fallon finished the job.

For those who are fans of the actor's untamed facial hair, worry not: Leto's giant beard — and his general spiritual look — was captured in a skit in which he and Fallon pondered deep mysteries. Though Fallon matched Leto's lengthy, natural locks with a wig, he stuck to his own advice about keeping bushy beards in check — by being the most clean-shaven spiritual man to ever sit atop a (fake) mountain.

Thirty Seconds to Mars is currently touring the United States. "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" airs weeknights at 11:35 on NBC.
