Fallon, One Direction belt out 'Santa Claus Is Coming to Town' on classroom instruments

Christmas is nearly upon us, and on Monday's "Tonight Show," Jimmy Fallon, One Direction and The Roots teamed up to make sure we're aware that "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town." Christmas is nearly upon us, and on Monday's "Tonight Show," Jimmy Fallon, One Direction and The Roots teamed up to make sure we're aware that "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town." Of course, they wanted to inform us in the most festive of ways ... with classroom instruments!

The room was tightly packed, but the members of both bands squeezed around Fallon (many sporting hilarious holiday sweaters) and belted out the classic 1934 tune while holding, shaking or otherwise making beautiful music with kids' instruments.

Our favorite? Niall Horan, giving a banana shaker a good workout.

And while we're dancing along, let's not forget these other terrific classroom instrument performances, courtesy of Fallon and The Roots:

"All I Want For Christmas Is You" with Mariah Carey (2012):

"Let It Go" with Idina Menzel (2014)

"All About That Bass" with Meghan Trainor (2014)

"One Direction: The TV Special" airs Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" airs weeknights on NBC at 11:35 p.m. ET.
