If you need help getting the weekend vibes going, look no further than TODAY. On Friday, we had laid-back legend Jimmy Buffett here singing away the work week — and the rain — on the plaza.

Buffett's fans, better known as Parrotheads, didn't let a little wet weather deter them when it came to seeing the "Margaritaville" singer live. After all, wherever he goes, the feeling of sun, fun and island life are never far behind.

Friday's concert marked more than just a day of great live music on TODAY — it's also kicked off Buffett's annual summer tour. The singer and his Coral Reefer Band are hitting the road for their "I Don't Know" tour, and they won't stop until the season is over.

And after that, Buffett's still not slowing down. The 69-year-old has a new holiday album in the works to be released later this year, and next year, his music is headed to a different sort of stage. The musical "Escape to Margaritaville" will debut at California's La Jolla Playhouse in May 2017.

It's a good time to be a good time-loving Parrothead.
