Jessica Simpson on second pregnancy: 'I was extremely shocked'
Jessica Simpson tweeted out a photo announcing her second pregnancy over the Christmas holidays, and on Monday night talked for the first time about learning that she was expecting baby No. 2 so soon after her first, Maxwell, who is 8 mos. old.
It was not part of the plan to have another baby so soon, Simpson confirmed.
"Oh no. Apparently it was part of God's plan," Simpson said. "I was extremely shocked, I was shocked because I was going through a lot of hormonal changes trying to get back to the old, vibrant Jessica. And you know, it was kind of like a one-night stand. And it happened … all over again!”
Simpson said this pregnancy is different from her last. For starters, the first time around she "kind of ate everything in sight," and that's not the case now.
"I didn't realize you could gain that much weight that quickly," she said. Exactly how much weight? Simpson referred to it as "a lot" and "more than doctors would recommend."
"Once I had Maxwell, I realized it wasn't water weight... In four months, I lost over 50 pounds."
Simpson vowed to be healthier this time around, a choice made a little easier by the fact she's been "really, really sick."
"I can’t wait to actually be able to crave something like I did in my first pregnancy," she added.
As for how her fiance Eric Johnson took the news: "I think he's really proud of himself, actually."
