Jesse James ‘looks defeated and sad’

Sandra Bullock is clearly moving forward with her life: She’s filed for divorce and will continue her adoption of 3 1/2-month-old Louis Bardo as a single mother. So what are the next steps for her ex, Jesse James?

In a statement to People magazine, James said that he feels he can be the “best father possible to my four children and the mate that Sandy deserves.”

Privately, things do not seem as hopeful for James. Sources close to his company, custom-motorcycle shop West Coast Choppers, say that business is down since the cheating scandal broke, and according to In Touch Weekly, his mood has been impacted, too.

Since returning from rehab, James “looks defeated and sad,” a neighbor told the magazine. “He's different than he was before.”

Kate Hudson keeping pregnancy rumors aliveWhen a celebrity does nothing to confirm or deny rumors that they’ve had breast implants, then the pregnancy rumors begin. This is certainly the case with Kate Hudson and her incremental increase in bust size.

Hudson attended a Tribeca Film Festival party Tuesday for her film “The Killer Inside Me.” She was dressed in baggy clothes and steered clear of booze — of which there was plenty, since the party was sponsored by Stolichnaya vodka.

According to an attendee, “Kate wore a baggy jacket and didn’t take it off when she was inside — normally she wears tighter clothing. I didn’t see her drink at all, and she sat in the corner and didn’t get up and socialize much. She could have been hiding her stomach.”

Jennifer Hudson postpones wedding
Jennifer Hudson became engaged to pro wrestler David Otunga in 2008, but the couple hasn’t yet made it down the aisle. The reason? Not cold feet, but rather scheduling conflicts, according to Life & Style magazine.

“If the wedding had gone off as planned, it would have already happened,” a source close to Hudson told the magazine. “They’ve pushed the date back because of David’s wrestling — for once he’s the one with the busier schedule.”

There are no plans for the couple, who had son David Jr. last August, to call off the wedding.

“Jen’s bought her dress already,” the source told the magazine. “They just wanted more time to plan everything.”

A volcano that tweetsIn the real world, the Eyjafjallajokull volcano was a menace, but in the Twitter world, @Eyjafjallajokul was “a lava, not a fighter.”

Between April 15 and April 27, the ash-spewing Icelandic volcano had a Twitter persona — and a following of 2,510, at last count.

With tweets such as, “People love it when The Cure sings ‘I’ll Stop the World and Melt With You,’ but I actually DO IT and everybody’s pissed!” and “A petition to make me stop spewing trash all over Europe? The Spice Girls did the same thing for years and nobody petitioned them to stop!” the volcano account was a rare combination: timely and funny.

    of

When the Eyjafjallajökull Volcano began erupting on March 20, the first lava to erupt came from vents on the lower slopes of the volcano, which were snow-covered, but not under the mountain’s year-round ice cap. Lava flows filled gullies and built mounds of frothy rock, and they melted and vaporized the winter snow, creating relatively small steam plumes. In mid-April, however, the character of the eruption changed dramatically, and this natural-color satellite image from April 17 provides a look at the new eruptive phase. A cloud of charcoal-brown ash covers half the image. A fresh plume of ash rises over the summit, its southern face illuminated by sunlight and its northern face deeply shadowed. The ash column casts a tall shadow onto the snow-covered ground to the north.

The man behind it is T.J. Sullivan, journalist and author of the novel “Boon.” Sullivan said via phone that doesn’t make a habit of tweeting in the voice of a natural disaster, but this was “a great way to procrastinate” as he works on his second book.

“I did the same thing I do when I write characters,” he said of putting himself in the place of the ash. “Twitter just forces you to do it in 140 characters or less.”

Sullivan’s tweets ceased not long after the volcano stopped erupting. “Even the volcano knew when to stop,” Sullivan said of the decision to turn off the lava lamp after 114 tweets.

If there’s one tweet that puts the whole experience into context, it’s this one, he said: “Fire & brimstone used to be real Wrath-of-God s---. People respected it! Now everybody's all ‘Don’t delay my flight.’ WTF?”
