Marcel the Shell is an adorable character voiced by the equally winsome comedian Jenny Slate. But he's more than just that. As she revealed during a visit to "Conan" Tuesday, Marcel is like another personality living inside Slate.
Jenny Slate reveals: No use of Marcel voice in romantic encounters
She explained (using his tiny, high-pitched voice) that he's a motivational coach ("You can do it!") and helps her vent her troubles ("Ah, today is going to hell in a handbasket").
He also appears to be Fleetwood Mac fan — which led Slate to demonstrate what Marcel sounds like when he's hitting and holding the top notes from the band's classic 1975 hit "Landslide."
Marcel the Shell returns, remains adorable in new video from Jenny Slate
Slate said her performance made her husband "shed a little tear." We hope it was with the kind of admiration we're feeling for both Slate, and her inner Marcel.
