She's one of the biggest actresses in Hollywood, but even Jennifer Garner worries about getting shuffled into the shadows of her actor and director husband, Ben Affleck.

In the September issue of Allure, the cover girl reveals that it's no coincidence that she and Affleck are rarely seen walking the red carpet together.

"It's a very conscious decision," she told the magazine. "Sometimes it's a pain because my heels are so high and it would be nice to have his arm. And he's such a great date! But it can be too much.

"I think especially for women, they can really lose their identity and just become 'wife of.'"

Garner also shot down any hopes that the couple, who have been married since 2005 and have three children, would ever star in a movie together.

"Really, you don't want to see a couple onscreen," she said. "People see paparazzi shots of us together all the time. There's no mystery ... People are sick of us."

While a "Bennifer" project seems to be out of the question, the couple has big plans for the future. Both are set to star in movies due out later this year — she in "Dallas Buyers Club" and he in "Runner Runner." Garner also revealed that we may even be seeing Affleck in a very different kind of role somewhere down the line.

"Would I be surprised if one day he did go into politics? No. But not now," she said of her husband, who established the Eastern Congo Initiative organization in 2010. "I'm along for the ride."
