Jennie Garth is speaking out following her split from husband Peter Facinelli.
The actress-turned-reality star stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Tuesday, where she discussed her new CMT series, “Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country,” something Peter will not be involved in.

“I wanted to move out of the city for a while and something inside of me said, ‘It’s time.’ I needed that sort of shelter, some things in my life have been transitioning. I just needed that,” Jennie said of her show that follows her and her three daughters on seven-acre farm in the central California countryside.
“My life is a little hectic right now and my personal life is kind of crazy. This is what I need and what the girls need right now, so it’s perfect,” she said, referring to split after 11 years with the “Twilight” star.

Despite her marital woes, the 39-year-old said she and her daughters – Luca, 14; Lola, 9; and Fiona, 5 – are handling the situation in stride.
“We’re doing great,” she told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover.
“Everything’s OK?” Billy asked.

“Yeah,” she added.

“Yeah, I will say yes, but I hope that people tune in and find out,” she explained.
The star says she “had no idea” a divorce was coming when she signed on to do the series, something that will allow her to step out of the Hollywood spotlight.
“I am country girl, that’s in my heart, I grew up on a farm, so I needed to get back to my roots for a while,” she added.
“Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country” premieres on April 20 at 9 PM on CMT.
