Howard Stern responds to Matt Lauer’s Ice Bucket challenge — with one ice cube
The ice bucket challenge just got a whole lot ... smaller. In July, TODAY's Matt Lauer challenged "America's Got Talent" judge Howard Stern to join the charity trend, and two days ago, Jennifer Aniston did the same. So on Monday, Stern finally braved the chill.

Well, sort of.
Yes, there was water involved and yes, the ice he poured on his head came from a bucket, but he only used a single cube. After nominating Barbara Walters, Mark Consuelos (husband to "Live! With Kelly and Michael" co-host Kelly Ripa) and (the late) Casey Kasem to take up the challenge next, Stern decanted a shot glass and one ice cube into his curly hair and shivered dramatically.
"Remember, all this ice bucket nonsense is for a good cause — donate to the ALS Association and help Strike Out ALS!" a message under the video on his website indicated. Only Stern could pull off snarky and supportive in the same breath.
The video left Lauer with something to say on TODAY Tuesday — not because of Stern's lack of commitment to getting really cold and wet, but because it took him so darned long to do it.
"It's outrageous that I challenged him two months ago, and he waits for Jennifer Aniston to challenge him before he actually does it," the anchor said with mock irritation.
