"House of Cards" fans who found last week's second season teaser trailer a little ... spare on actual details, brace yourselves: The new trailer, posted on YouTube Thursday, gets right to the barbecue-sauce-slathered meat of things.

Because ... that is sauce, not blood, being slathered by a thumb across a photo in the trailer, right? Probably, but one should never underestimate the lengths to which BBQ-loving politician (and now vice president) Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) will go to wreak vengeance and secure power for himself.

As the description below Netflix's YouTube video indicates, Underwood's ascension to the VP spot "faces threats on all fronts," while Zoe (Kate Mara) is "inching closer to the truth about Frank and Peter Russo (Corey Stoll) and will stop at nothing to break the story."

Meanwhile, the description continues, Underwood's wife Claire (Robin Wright) is now second lady and "must deal with the bright glare of the spotlight and how the intense scrutiny eats away at their once private existence."

But the clip is what really will have fans salivating: It's full of delightful teases and dramatic turns of phrases; allusions to death and murder pop up, as does the idea of a cover-up that reaches into the highest corridors of power. And when Claire notes that an unnamed man can be dangerous, Frank tells her, "We can be dangerous, too."

That's not all — in just two minutes lamps and food are thrown, a phone is bashed, and a gold ring is buried in the dirt; Zoe skulks around what appears to be a subway station, hard-bitten investigative reporter Janine (Constance Zimmer) admits she's scared and the president tells Underwood he's "out of line."

Loads of teasing, no real story leaked — exactly the kind of trailer "House of Cards" fans want. And now, with suspense appropriately built and anticipation at a peak, Valentine's Day can't get here soon enough.

"House of Cards" returns to Netflix for its second season on Feb. 14.
