Just because Hoda was told Monday she needs to watch her sugar intake, that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t know what she’s getting herself in to.

In a quiz about frozen treats, Hoda's showed her dessert knowledge prowess, she went head-to-head with KLG on what they know about the frozen treats they might be scooping up this summer.

Hoda started off with a clear win on the question regarding the calories of non-fat yogurt, and continued to ring in those points.

“Hoda knows her sweets!” KLG said, after Hoda properly identified Skinny Cow as perhaps not being the skinny option.

“No one is smarter than me in the sweet department,” Hoda said.

When time came to identify whether sorbet, gelato or sherbet have dairy KLG guessed sherbet. She buzzed wrong. “It’s the mango sorbet,” Hoda said. “By the way it’s ‘sherbet’ not ‘sherbert’...there’s no ‘r’ in ‘sherbet’.”

Hoda, perhaps emboldened by her winning streak, also took the moment to remind KLG that “in ‘lozengers’ it’s ‘lozenges', not ‘lozengers'.” Kathie Lee, never one to be upstaged, said, “It’s ‘sorbet', not ‘sherbert'.”

Hoda swept the competition, scoring a 7 to KLG’s 0 and winning a sundae-making kit.

Kathie Lee was not pleased. She said, “As we heard yesterday, she’s not supposed to have so much sugar in her life!”

TODAY.com contributor Jillian Eugenios thinks that by just knowing the calories in a dessert it is instantly less fattening.
