'Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies' trailer lights up the Internet
Love movie trailers? You're riding a great wave these last few days. The "Mockingjay" and "Mad Max" trailers were released over the weekend, and on Monday, the first teaser trailer for the final "Hobbit" movie, "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies," hit the Internet.
Teased director Peter Jackson on Facebook: "I think one or two of you asked to see this?"
Earlier this month, Jackson warned fans that a full trailer for the film wouldn't be available until October, but the teaser does not disappoint. It's nearly two minutes long and includes most, if not all, of the trilogy's major characters. Smaug the dragon lights up a village with his flame. Bilbo looks terrified. Legolas battles with a sword. Row upon row of archers stand ready to loose arrows.
Not all fans are thrilled that such a short book as "The Hobbit" was milked into three films, or that some characters not in J.R.R. Tolkien's book were added (namely, Evangeline Lilly's Tauriel). But others are counting the days until the battle begins.
"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" comes to theaters Dec. 17.
