Gwen Stefani has already sung her new hit "Used to Love You" several times, but on Monday night, she pulled out all the stops in an emotional performance of the hit on "The Voice" that made it seem like she was singing it for the first time.
And when she was done, the audience was cheering and her fellow coaches had leapt to their feet.
Decked out in a Grecian tulle gown by Marchesa while perched atop a platform surrounded by fog and floral trees, Stefani seemed like a combination of a goddess and a bride while she sang the song that's largely attributed to be about her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.
"The song was not written that long ago," Stefani said during a radio interview in early November, just after the single's release. "I had been writing because my life blew up. I was going along thinking that was going to be the rest of my life and it's not. I don't know what happened. I've always wanted to write music so desperately because doing it is one thing that really validates me for myself."

Before the show, Stefani's new beau Blake Shelton spoke with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet and in the spirit of the season, he adorably explained what he was thankful for.
"I'm thankful for Gwen for tons of reasons," he said, "but mostly because she makes us all look a whole lot better on this show."
Fellow coach Pharrell Williams also had encouraging things to say about Stefani. "I am grateful that Gwen is in the most free place that I feel like she's ever been since I've known her as a human being," he said. "Not just creatively, but as a human being, she's floating right now."
Of course, Shelton was also grateful for someone else: coach Adam Levine. "I'm thankful that Adam grew his hair back," he quipped, referring to the bald look Levine briefly sported earlier in the season. "He was starting to look like Squidward but now he looks more like Eddie Munster again."
