When Kathie Lee and Hoda announced Monday that they were swearing off alcohol for a month, some of you couldn't quite believe your ears. But the ladies kept their word: just 24 hours later they bid an emotional goodbye to wine for the month of January during their special fitness episode Tuesday.

While many viewers were sympathetic — who doesn't need a break after the the holidays? — others doubted their ability to stay dry for that long. Here's what some of you had to say on Facebook:

Chris Roquemore: It's the end of the world as we know it.

Kathy Kabara Schmidt: The wine growers will be picketing

Jessica Daniel: Maybe when hell freezes over!!

Dale-Renee Roeder: What the What?

Nancy DePaola Merrill: This must be a New Year's prank, right?

Tracey Leach: Say it ain't so! Feel like I'm losing my drinking buddies!

Laura Mullen: Looks like we will all have to drink 2 extra glasses every morning for them. Let's all do our part!

Phillip Brodie: I'm sure you ladies will last the whole month without wine! Good luck!

Ramses Serrano: Oh really? where is the DON'T LIKE for the post??? please let me know when they go off the wagon to watch again!

Don't worry, everybody. It's not permanent. Hoda promised, "In thirty days, we're going to be back in business."
