Ready to dig deep to learn about ancient Egypt? The Discovery Channel's latest episode of "Curiosity: Egypt: What Lies Beneath?" is set to reveal secrets that have been hidden under the sand for 4,000 years.
The host of this grand attempt? None other than actor Brendan Fraser, who has some experience in the area. Sort of. The man did play adventurer Rick O'Connell, who had an exciting experience or three in blockbuster "The Mummy" films.
"What Lies Beneath" will follow the efforts of archaeologist Sarah Parcak to uncover ancient Egypt, 99 percent of which has remained buried. One area of particular focus is the former capital of Itjitawy. What exactly makes the city so important? According to Mr. Fraser, "It was a place of infamy, political intrigue, violent palace coups and murder." The only catch? The city has never been found -- or will Parcak finally uncover it?
