The quartet of Joe Jonas, Jack Lawless, JinJoo Lee and Cole Whittle — known collectively as DNCE — brought their peppy tunes to the TODAY plaza to kick off the last weekend in August, and it was impossible not to kick up your heels in delight.

The group's set list included its hit "Cake by the Ocean," along with "Toothbrush" and "Body Moves."

Jonas has been around the block several times, and appeared on TODAY before, but DNCE itself is fresh and new to the plaza, having just released "Cake" in 2015.

So what does DNCE stand for? Just "dance"! "We misspelled 'dance' and we liked the way it looks," Jonas told TODAY before their performance.

"Cake" was also born out of another "misunderstanding," in which someone was confused about the classic cocktail Sex on the Beach. "We thought that was pretty quirky, bizarre so we put it in a song," he added.

Needless to say, many fans gathered early and excitedly on the plaza, and the band did their best to hang out with them — even making a little room to roam in the studio and cuddle with TODAY puppy Charlie.

And it seems like Savannah had a good time DNCE-ing along!

Of course, DNCE made sure they were always in the shot when Savannah was around:
