We kicked off Throwback Thursday the right way on TODAY! In a special mid-week edition of our summer concert series, we welcomed '80s (and beyond) hit makers Culture Club to the plaza.

Boy George and the gang hit the stage early for a warmup that obviously pleased fans who had arrived ahead of schedule.

But that was just a taste of what was to come!

When the real concert got off to a start, Culture Club delivered a rousing rendition of their 1983 hit "Karma Chameleon" and followed it up with "Miss Me Blind."

"We've got a new album coming out next year, which is a mixture of eclectic sounds and styles — just like us — and I can't wait for it," bassist Mikey Craig revealed on the plaza.

We're sure fans can't wait either!

But they sure seemed satisfied to hear the older songs on the plaza. And as Boy George revealed when he stopped by studio 1A, he's just as happy to perform them.

"I have a really healthy relationship with my past, 'cause I haven't had to live in it," he explained. "So when I go back to doing the old songs, for me, it's like fun."

He's grateful for the good times, too.

"I kind of feel blessed to do what I do now," he said. "I feel really lucky to get paid to do what I love."

Need more of a nostalgic fix from the band? No problem! Take a look back at this TODAY video from 1984.

What a morning!
