Who's missing Charlie Harper on "Two and a Half Men"? Apparently, the show's writers!

Which may explain why they had Jon Cryer (who plays Charlie's brother Alan) channel Charlie Sheen's former character in Monday's episode. Suddenly, Alan -- usually mild-mannnered and dry of wit -- was transformed into a bowling-shirt wearing, cigar-chomping, all-around rude fellow.

Ashton Kutcher's Walden tells Alan he should see a shrink about the untimely death of his brother, and adds that their friends are concerned.

"The only reason people are so worried about me is they can't wrap their heads around how cool I am," says Alan-as-Charlie.

Walden is clearly confused, but Cryer seems to be having the time of his life with the impersonation. Check out the clip on ET Online.

Meanwhile, Deadline is reporting that a new face will soon be visiting the household ... will the casting of Mimi Rogers as Ashton Kutcher's mom help restore Alan to his good senses?
