Cosmetic changes for 'House's' Hugh Laurie

What do Patrick Dempsey, Gerard Butler ... and Hugh Laurie have in common?

They're all faces of the L'Oreal Paris' line of men's cosmetics, with Laurie -- best known in the U.S. for playing a rumpled, grumpy doc on "House" -- the latest to sign on in the campaign. All three will represent its "Men Experts" line.

As Laurie says in The Belfast Telegraph, "At first I thought it was a mistake, but then I realized that L'Oreal wasn't looking for models, but real people with strong personalities who are worth it... and who aren't afraid to proclaim that using cosmetics can be a very masculine decision after all."

Added Cyril Chapuy, global brand president of L'Oreal Paris, in the Telegraph article, Hugh is "the perfect example of a modern man: genuine, uninhibited, strong and willing to pursue his passions to the end."

Undoubtedly all true, but Laurie has a bonus talent to offer the campaign that Butler and Dempsey may lack. He's genuinely funny, as evidenced by this brief promotional clip:
