Farewell Chuy, Chunk and the rest of the "Chelsea Lately" family! After seven hilarious years of hijinks, skits and making fun of all things pop culture, Chelsea Handler will end her late night run on E!. The final episode of "Chelsea Lately" will air Tuesday, Aug. 26 at 11 p.m.
In order to properly say goodbye to the sassiest voice in late night, E! will host a month-long celebration complete with surprise guests and nods to Chelsea's favorite episodes. (And yes, we assume there will be plenty of Chelsea's favorite drink: Vodka.)
"I myself am more surprised than anyone that I was able to hold down a job for seven years, and it was a fantastic seven years," Handler said in a statement on Wednesday. "I will always look back at my time on E! as most people look back at their time in college. I'm glad I went."
"We are very proud of 'Chelsea Lately's' long-running success and the unique space that the series carved out in late night television," E!'s President Suzanne Kolb said. "Chelsea brought a distinct voice to late night with her acerbic wit and fearless commentary and we look forward to providing fans with a memorable send-off that lives up to that tradition. Most of all, we are grateful to the 'Chelsea Lately' team for making this show so special for seven years."
Fans can still catch new episode of "Chelsea Lately" weeknights at 11 p.m. on E! until the series final on Aug. 26.
