Check out Jewel with a perfect (fake) smile

Among the more endearing things about country singer Jewel is that her teeth are not of the perfect, day-glow white, Chiclet variety. Oh Jewel, say it isn't permanent!

Luckily, it's not. Her publicists confirmed to TODAY.com that the singer did not cross over to the dark side and what you see in the picture is just a prosthetic for the role. After becoming famous in "Dirty Dancing," and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," Jennifer Grey had a nose job that some say perfected her face but ruined her career; Ashlee Simpson and Ashley Tisdale followed suit much later but to similar effect. None of those women ever saw the same level of success that they had before going under the knife.

So Jewel, good on you. Some "flaws" just aren't flaws at all.
