Watch Channing Tatum prank a room full of 'Magic Mike XXL' fans

At what had been set up as a test screening of "Magic Mike XXL," Channing Tatum fans might have answered questions from a supposed "marketing exec" a little differently if they knew he was actually Tatum in disguise.

Just ask the one woman who, when a disguised Tatum asked about the best actor to star in the original "Magic Mike," replied, "Matthew McConaughey." (To be fair to her, McConaughey is an Academy Award winner, albeit not for his Royal Shakespeare Company-caliber performance in the series' first strip-flick.)

Video of the prank was posted Tuesday to YouTube and Tatum's public Facebook page.

Only later in the test-screening process would fans learn that they'd been pranked. At what had been billed as a "3-D" screening of "Magic Mike XXL," several male dancers filed into the crowd, swiveled their hips, and pulled off their shirts for a routine at the front of the movie theater.

Audience members must have been a little confused when the awkward "marketing exec" first joined the suggestive dancing extravanza, but they cheered in a very different way when Tatum removed his ... disguise.

Fans who want to get up-close and personal with Tatum can enter Omaze's charity raffle for a chance to join him on the red carpet for a premiere of "Magic Mike XXL." The raffle benefits the Runa Foundation, whose mission is to create "new value for tropical forests that benefit local people and the forest ecosystem."
