Gilbert Gottfried's inappropriate Twitter jokes might be grabbing headlines as they relate to celebrities and the tragedy in Japan, but know that there are people using their influence for good.

First up, Lady Gaga unveiled a "Japan prayer bracelet" to her nearly 9 million followers. In just 48 hours, that effort's raised nearly a quarter million dollars for Japan relief, according to her Twitter.

Blink-182 have set up a charity auction on eBay; proceeds from the sale of memorabilia will benefit the Red Cross. Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park designed a T-shirt to benefit Music for Relief's Tsunami Relief in Japan. And even Charlie Sheen is making an effort to help. He'll donate $1 from every ticket sold for "My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is Not and Option" tour will go to the Red Cross.

Other celebrities, like George Takei (who is Japanese), Conan O'Brien, Diddy and Katy Perry have also reached out via Twitter, urging fans to text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
