Former “American Idol” champ Carrie Underwood will drop the follow up to her debut album, “Some Hearts,” on Oct. 23.

The as-yet-untitled release was produced by Mark Bright, who previously worked on seven cuts from Underwood’s first effort. Bright has also produced albums for Sara Evans and Rascal Flatts.

Underwood co-wrote several of the tracks on her upcoming release, though no song titles have been announced. The blond crooner previously helped write the “Some Hearts” cut “I Ain’t in Checotah Anymore.”

Though hopes are high for Underwood’s release, in February of this year, she told reporters she was nervous about following up her multi-platinum debut.

“I think the scariest part is gonna come with album two. I’ve had so much success with (‘Some Hearts’),” she said backstage at the Grammys. “I’m not gonna try and top the first one.”

In related news, Underwood will appear at Fashion Rocks, airing Sept. 7 on CBS.
