Country-pop superstar Carrie Underwood has long been flying high. But while in Sydney, Australia, for the first of two concerts this week she took that phrase literally — and went for a skydive!

And what a trooper — she took all of us else along, at least in the form of documenting the whole gut-wrenching experience.

She started out with selfie videos of herself and pals singing tunes to get psyched up, like 1969's "Leaving on a Jet Plane" by John Denver, 1983's "Jump" by the Pointer Sisters and Tom Petty's 1989 hit "Free Fallin.'"

Nevertheless, there were some nerves:

And one amazing shot just before the crucial moment:

Then, the moment of glory, headfirst straight down to earth:

She landed safely and received a skydiving certificate featuring her married last name (NHL star Mike Fisher is her husband):

And finally posted this post-flight victory video:

"What just happened?" Underwood asks her pal in the video.

"We went skydiving," says the woman.

"We did," Underwood says, clearly still buzzing from the adrenaline. "That just happened. It was awesome."

And we just bet it made her concert that night all the more spectacular!
