Before Britney’s “How I Met Your Mother” character debuted on the small screen Monday night, the pop star rehearsed like any other cast member. Well, almost. The National Enquirer’s Mike Walker reports that Brit wouldn’t remove her trademark oversized shades until the cameras rolled.

“Britney delivered her lines, but the show's actors — Josh Radnor, Neil Patrick Harris and guest star Sarah Chalke from 'Scrubs' — had a tough time reading her expressions since they couldn't see her eyes at all,” an insider revealed. “It's hard for an actor to make a connection when all he sees is his own reflection staring back at him in shiny dark glasses … but no one wanted to upset Britney by asking her to take them off.”

In the end a set executive mustered up the courage to ask, “You will be taking the sunglasses off for the actual tapings, right?” To which Britney responded, “Uh…yeah!”

Natalie Portman regrets missed childhood Having worked steadily since she was just 11 years old, Natalie Portman feels as though she never had the chance to really be a kid. In a report posted to Female First, “The Other Boleyn Girl” star shared her regrets.

“I do kind of feel that I lost part of my childhood,” Natalie confessed. “I was one of those kids that always wanted to be older, which I now think is a shame.”

Then again, the 26-year-old actress knows it’s never too late for a second childhood. “I try to make up for that now by being outdoors more, playing, being silly and not being afraid of that. I don't feel that I missed out on a normal life, but when I was a kid I wasn't out playing in the mud.”

Amy Winehouse’s father fears for her As rumors of unhealthy habits and marital woes continue to dog Amy Winehouse, her father grows more concerned. Speaking to News of the World, Mitch shared his reaction to new photos of his daughter’s arm covered with presumably self-inflicted cuts.

“I saw the cuts and told Amy that her arm didn't look good, but she just said, ‘It's nothing,’” Mitch told NotW. “Amy is not as responsive as we would like. It is worrying. It's a very painful situation.”

No doubt causing even more worry is the lasted allegation concerning Amy’s incarcerated husband, Blake Fielder-Civil. According to The Sun, Blake wants Amy to support his addiction while he remains in prison.

“Blake’s addiction is just as bad as ever and he’s bragging about how he’s been asking Amy to help him get a fix,” a prison insider explained to the paper. “Blake doesn’t care as long as he gets his hit. He’s prepared to put his wife at risk. It shows how desperate he’s become.”

One source close to the “Rehab” singer told the Sun that “Amy loves Blake with all her heart, but for him drugs come first and her second. Until she realizes that, nothing will change.”

Dish on the fly When actress Renee Zellweger browses through stack of scripts, she knows what she’s not looking for. “I wouldn't say I can choose absolutely any movie role I wanted — so many variables play into it,” the “Bridget Jones” star admitted in a quote on ContactMusic.com. “But you can always choose what you don't want to do — like if I see a script that says, 'Close up on booby first shot,' I'll probably say pass to that.” … Despite being married, rumor has it Jessica Simpson's dad's acting like a single man these days. A spy for Page Six spotted the Papa Joe on the prowl at a party, and wife Tina was nowhere to be seen. “He was with a group of guys including Ryan Cabrera,” the eyewitness said. “(Joe) was flirting with one group of girls who either didn't know who he was or didn't care, and they just grabbed their drinks, laughed and walked away.”
