Britney Spears pranks prospective bodyguards on 'Best Time Ever'

With host Neil Patrick Harris and Joe Jonas providing instructions through her earpiece, Spears' job interviews took a few strange turns.

With hidden cameras rolling, "Best Time Ever" host Neil Patrick Harris, singer Joe Jonas and pop icon Britney Spears had a little fun with three men who'd applied to be Spears' bodyguard.

Reminiscent of TruTV's "Impractical Jokers" — whose stars use a hidden earpiece to dare each other to do unusual things with unsuspecting strangers in public — the bit shows Spears conducting candidate interviews while, in another room, Harris and Jonas offer odd instructions through her earpiece.

The result took a few strange turns, including flawless bodyguard dance moves, a reference to Scooby Doo as a superhero, and a moment when Spears opted to, as Harris put it, go "rogue" by asking one applicant to switch seats repeatedly — without being instructed to do so by Harris or Jonas.

All three bodyguards laughed and appeared to go with the flow, although one of them noted to Spears, "You're full of surprises, you know that?"

The segment also gave Harris a chance to expand his performance skill set, which he recently discussed with TODAY.com. One of his "Best Time Ever" tasks required him to learn a "Cirque du Soleil"-esque trampoline routine, resulting in some scrapes and bruises. "I have whiplash," he said. "I'm a physical mess."

Spears' practical joke wasn't the only surprise revealed to fans in the past week.

As documented on her Instagram account, she reportedly surprised young students Saturday at ROCKIT Dance Studios in Westlake Village, California, where she choreographed moves to Madonna's "Give Me All Your Luvin.'"

Spears seemed thrilled by the results. "They rocked it," reads one of the related video captions.
