Parents whose kids practice magic tricks in their spare time may think it's just another frivolous hobby -- but the guys at the new Discovery Channel show "Breaking Magic" are out to prove otherwise.

For them, it's all about science. "The show takes the creativity and showmanship required to be a magician and uses that to explore, perform and talk about some really interesting and sometimes dangerous science principles," "Breaking" co-host Wayne Houchin (who appeared with fellow co-host James Galea) told TODAY's Willie Geist and Tamron Hall Thursday.

"But," he added, "it doesn't give away the secrets to magic tricks."

Be sure to check out the video to see how Galea and Houchin pulled one over on Geist and Hall using just a coin and a can of Fresca!

"Breaking Magic" premieres on Discovery Nov. 11 at 10 p.m.
