"Wheel of Fortune" has served up some classic gaffes lately, but this one went overboard. Contestant Rachel Brill could've won a Caribbean cruise Monday night, but she whiffed on the cruise-themed puzzle.
A breathless-sounding Brill solved the puzzle as "BOOZING My Shore Excursion."
Even seen-it-all host Pat Sajak sounded a little disgusted when he told her she didn't have the right answer. And fellow contestant Josh Baer swooped in and correctly pronounced the real answer to be "Booking My Shore Excursion."
Wrote one viewer of the YouTube clip: "I always like to get plastered during those boring shore excursions." And another chimed in with, "I could go for some booze right about now."
One "Wheel" contestant lost a puzzle recently simply by mispronouncing the completely revealed answer. (Someone made a similar mistake in 2013.) But Brill shouted out "BOOZING" so loud and clear there was no question what she meant.
One hopes she found her way to the booze sometime after the cameras went off, excursion or no excursion.
