Country crooner Blake Shelton knows a thing or two about delivering the perfect heart-tugging sort of song that fans of the genre love. On Saturday night, he took that twangy talent one step further by delivering a spot-on spoof.
Shelton got big laughs throughout the evening as he took the helm on "SNL" as both host and musical guest — seriously, just check out his charm in the "Bachelor" sendup "Farm Hunk" — but nothing could top guffaws he got with "Wishin' Boot."
Regular players Aidy Bryant and Kate McKinnon backed up the country music hit maker for the touching, over-the-top and downright bizarre ballad about a cowboy boot that makes all their wishes come true. Or as they put it in the song, "It's hope in the form of a little 'ol dirty boot."
But don't take our word for it! Hit play to hear all about what the boot can do — and to appreciate Shelton's ability to lovingly mock the form he's mastered.
