With KLG away, Hoda's been enjoying bantering with a variety of celebrity guests hosts. On Friday, it was actress Molly Ringwald and a particularly lovestruck kookaburra.
The ladies got to practice their bird calls when TODAY pal David Mizejewski brought by the extra vocal bird. He also introduced them to a vulture, a bearcat, and of course, a big ol' snake (because Hoda loves snakes so much).
Hoda hit it off best with the kookaburra, enjoying a conversation that sounded not unlike her arguments with KLG. She tried valiantly to imitate its call, then just gave up and started making random, bird-esque noises.
"Hoo hoo hoo," chirped Hoda.
"BLLRRRRRRRRR!" replied the bird.
And with that, Hoda was in love. "I want to bring him on tour with me!" she said.
Molly got along well with the boa constrictor, while Hoda patted him from a safe distance and seemed to miss her old pal, the bird.
"She makes the best faces," sighed David. Her noises aren't bad either.
Julieanne Smolinski is a TODAY contributor who could watch Hoda talk to a bird for hours.
