Bernie Sanders makes a great George Costanza in funny 'Seinfeld' clips

Somehow, it seemed inevitable that the Democratic candidate for president would appear on the defunct sitcom. And now it's happened, sort of!

Bernie Sanders is a formidable political candidate for the Democratic nomination. But he's also kind of ... George Costanza-like, isn't he?

The folks over at Break Originals thought so, and thanks to the power of digital manipulation, cut-and-pasted Sanders' head on top of the "Seinfeld" character's body, and voila! Sanders is George Costanza (played by Jason Alexander) in the classic 90s sitcom in this new video.

Admittedly, it's pretty funny to see Sanders/Costanza speechifying about racism, fixing the financial system and inequality while George, Elaine and Kramer dismiss him and his ideas. (The show was always about nothing, after all.)

But it really feels like an inevitable throughline: Remember, Costanza's character is based on Larry David, who co-created "Seinfeld" ... and who recently has begun portraying Sanders to hilarious effect on "Saturday Night Live."

Is it a complete success? We vote yes!
