On Monday, Kathie Lee and Hoda spoke about the new trend of pitching a tent on a public beach. We asked what you thought about it on our Facebook page and received 500 comments. Turns out some were for the coverage and others were against it. Here are few highlight comments:

Diana Hovey: "Why does someone need a tent on the beach? Rude. People. Rude."

Tiffany Mrazik: "Why would anyone have a problem with this? How is this any different from a cabana? I think this is a genius idea!"

Jennifer Rouse thought it was all about size. "A small cabana is one thing but an 8 person tent is overkill."

Natalie Gulley loved the idea because "some of us can't be in the sun too long but love the beach. Go ahead and pitch a tent."

Kathie Lee still wasn't convinced. "How about just have your umbrella? Sit under your umbrella and move it with the sun," she said. "Who wants to carry all that stuff down to the beach anyway?"

KLG had some more pet beach peeves. She loves it when she's down on the beach all alone, loving the solitude... until someone shows up. "It's only fair," she said, "it's a public beach. But there's a beach there and they plop two feet from you and start blaring their music."

"And smoking cigarettes," Hoda said.

"I know we seem like we despise everybody today…" KLG said.

"We don't," Hoda said. "Well, today we do." Just watch where you pitch that tent.

TODAY.com contributor Jillian Eugenios is OK with a cabana on the beach, as long as it comes with palm tree fans and a towel service.
