Great blocks! Lego recreation of 'Back to the Future' scene is out of this world

Academy voters may have denied "The Lego Movie" an Oscar, but we've found another Lego-filled movie — and it's definitely worth a award!

It's a recreation of some of the final scenes from 1985's "Back to the Future" (which celebrates its 30th anniversary in July), specifically the clock tower sequence where Michael J. Fox's Marty McFly finds a way home amid a lightning storm.

The attention to detail is awesome, particularly when Doc is dangling from the clock tower and the seconds are ticking away.

The set was built by Elspeth DeMontes and animated and photographed by Vicki Smith and Daniel Jamieson at BRICK 2014, a convention for fans of the interlocking bricks, according to notes on YouTube.
