'Bachelor' Sean Lowe: Having Emily Maynard at my wedding not 'appropriate'

The couple that starts their relationship together on national television, stays together? Sean Lowe and his bride-to-be, 26-year-old Seattle graphic designer Catherine Giudici, announced their plans to say "I do" in front of the cameras on the "After the Final Rose" special following the season finale on Monday, March 11.

And though the Texas native has always been adamant that he's not seeking fame through the franchise, he did admit that their decision to share their happiest moment with America was "only fitting."

"It's something that we talked about," Lowe, 29, told Us Weekly during a conference call on Tuesday, March 12. "You know, from the moment we got engaged obviously we started talking about the wedding and certain aspects and details of the wedding and, you know, I think it's something that we both came to feel very comfortable with and we trust the people that would help us put the wedding on and it just seemed fitting."

As the happy couple plans their wedding, however, they've already pinpointed one person who won't be on the guest list: Emily Maynard.

PHOTOS: "The Bachelor": Where are they now?

"Probably not," Lowe said of inviting the woman who sent him packing on the last season of "The Bachelorette." "You know, I think the world of Emily, and I want nothing but good things for her. But I don't know if it would be the most appropriate thing to have her at the wedding."

Lowe has even reached out to past "Bachelor"/"Bachelorette" couples who've had televised weddings to get their two cents about the decision -- including former Bachelorette Ashley Hebert and husband J.P. Rosenbaum and former Bachelor Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney.

"I talked to J.P. the other day about it," he said. "I mean, they had a wonderful experience and I haven't really talked to Jason or Molly. They've both become friends of mine but I'm assuming they had a great experience as well. So I really, at this point, we don't really see any drawbacks."

On the "After the Final Rose" special, Lowe said he was excited to tie the knot with Giudici "very soon."

"A marriage follows a proposal," he said with a grin.

Though the groom hasn't picked out a best man yet, Giudici said she already knows who'll stand by her side as her maid of honor on the big day.

PHOTOS: How did it all start for Sean?

"I have already told my maid of honor that she will be holding that very great position," she told reporters. "(My best friend) Crista Osher has been -- she was the one that signed me up for the show. She found my Prince Charming. And she's been so supportive and such a lady this whole time. I've been really blessed to have her in my life."

As for the officiant? Though "Bachelor" host Chris Harrison offered to act as the officiant for an impromptu wedding on the special following the season finale on Monday, March 11, Lowe says he'll have some stiff competition.

PHOTOS: Relive Sean's proposal!

"I doubt Chris will be officiating only because, you know, my dad (Jay Lowe) is an ordained minister, my grandfather is a minister, there are a lot of ministers in line that might supersede Chris Harrison."
