Ready for another season of contested ballroom skills and almost constant controversy? Ready or not, the next season of “Dancing With the Stars” just might feature another member of the polarizing Palin family.

Hot on the dancing heels of Bristol Palin’s third-place finish comes the news that her father, Todd, is the focus the latest attempted casting coup by the show’s powers-that-be.

“They want him big time,” a source told E! News. “They'd love Sarah, but they don't think that will ever happen, so why not go for the dad.”

In fact, this isn't the first time producers tried to convince Todd to go "Dancing." They pursued him before Bristol took the stage. Given the ratings boost the younger Palin brought to the ballroom, the renewed casting effort hardly seems shocking.

The "Dancing" insider claims producers see Todd as "ratings gold." And Todd's not the only attention-grabbing potential competitor.

Fellow political picks said to be under consideration include scandal-friendly former New York governor Elliot Spitzer and John McCain’s daughter, Meghan, according to E! News.

The question is, will Sarah Palin support (or even insist on) Todd's ballroom opportunity? When asked about it following his last invitation to join, the politician-turned-reality-TV-star said, "I think that would have been cool to see, too."
