Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria, are offering the first look at baby daughter Carmen Gabriela via a new exclusive in People magazine. And with the photo of the happy family comes the actor's admission that he's getting a fresh shot at fatherhood.
"It's a second chance for me in a way," Baldwin tells People. "Everybody knows I had a pretty unpleasant custody battle for Ireland."
Baldwin calls his 17-year-old daughter with ex-wife Kim Basinger "well-adjusted and as happy as one can be" now. But the former "30 Rock" star, 55, faced a firestorm of criticism in April 2007 after leaving a scathing voicemail for then-11-year-old Ireland.
Now he just wants things to be "easy" and "nice" with his 29-year-old wife and their daughter, who was born on Aug. 23.
“I knew I was going to love her a lot, but it’s incredible how deeply," Hilaria, a first-time mom, tells People.
The couple also invited "Extra" into their home for an exclusive video. Baldwin said of his daughter, "I hope she looks like her mother. What a waste of time it would be to marry a woman like that and have the kid look like me."
