2 hosts for Oscars 2016? The Internet responds with amazing suggestions

Next year's Academy Awards show will rely in two hosts to keep things moving, and there are loads of great ideas being floated on social media.

Academy Awards show producer David Hill told the world on Tuesday that next year's Oscars ceremony will be hosted by two individuals, and folks on social media immediately took that as a casting call.

"Two is better than one," Hill told Entertainment Weekly, and then quipped, "Just imagine, you're in there. One of your hosts drops dead from cardiac arrest. What do you do? Second host goes on!"

It will be the first time the show has used two hosts since the (not terribly popular) decision to put James Franco and Anne Hathaway in charge of the evening's festivities in 2011.

So while Hill and his co-producer Reginald Hudlin may have their own ideas in mind (Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele of "Key & Peele"? Tina Fey and Amy Poehler?), we'd like to bring to light suggestions found via the Twitter hashtag #OscarHosts2016 — some pairings of which could prove a serious ratings booster!

Take a look:

Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny of "The X-Files"

Effie Trinket and Caesar Flickerman of "The Hunger Games"

Kermit and Miss Piggy

Amy Poehler and Vice President Joe Biden

Donald Trump and Rosie O'Donnell

Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj
