Here at Animal Tracks we cannot resist photos of penguins – especially penguins in sweaters. So when we stumbled across this photo of Lovelace, a penguin who sports a crazy rainbow sweater in the movie "Happy Feet 2," which opens Friday, we just had to post it.

Senior entertainment editor Gael Fashingbauer Cooper, who got a sneak preview of the "Happy Feet" sequel, explained how Lovelace got the sweater: “He and the puffin got picked up by a boat, and they gave it to him. It unravels later, and they use the string to save a penguin dangling off a cliff.”

Love it!

In related news, we also have an update to our post about knitters making sweaters for penguins after oil spill in New Zealand.

Skeinz, the knitting shop in Napier, New Zealand, that launched the sweater-making initiative, is dressing life-size Little Blue Penguin stuffed toys (complete with penguin call when squeezed!) in the knitted sweaters and selling them, with all proceeds going into the Skeinz Penguin Rescue Fund.

New Zealand's Forest & Bird will then help Skeinz distribute the funds to the Tauranga shore birds affected by the oil spill.  They will also use the fund to help support the Little Blue Penguin Burrow program run by Cape Sanctuary.
